Mouna had an out of body experience as a child, and was later briefly introduced to Yoga as a teenager. Commenced seriously exploring Yoga Sadhana in 1981, and after five years of intensive Sadhana experienced the Darshan of Swami Satyananda Saraswati. On this same morning in July 1986, whilst in meditation Mouna experienced the inner dimensions and the awakening of Kundalini for the first time. Two years later in April 1988 Mouna travelled to the Bihar School of Yoga in India to meet his Guru Paramahamsa Satyananda Saraswati, and seek his guidance. That meeting forged an inner connection with his Guru and in 1995 Mouna was initiated of behalf of Paramahamsa Satyananda into the Dasnami Sannyasa tradition by Paramahamsa Niranjanananda Saraswati as a Poorna Sannyasin. Semi-Retired from Full Time Yoga teaching in December 2003, and following a recommendation by close friend and Gurubhai Swami Anandakapila Saraswati in May 2009 became an independant Yoga teacher/Sannaysin, free from all organisations. Mouna has a Diploma in Health Science & Massage Therapy also, and has worked as an Operations Manager for three large multinational corporations. Soon after returning from a three month Kriya Yoga retreat in Sweden, On Guru Poornima 2011 Mouna decided to commence teaching Yoga again, to decicated spiritual seekers. Mouna's passion is the preservation of Kriya Yoga Sadhana, and steering the "KRP" Mission.
